WCYFC FOOTBALL

WCYFC member leagues provide youth tackle football programs which abide by rules set down by the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) except as modified by local conference rules.

Our football players are divided into the following age/weight divisions:

DIVISION AGE WEIGHT

Super Midget 8-9 maximum 95 pounds
Midgets 10-11 maximum 115 pounds
Junior Varsity 12-13 maximum 140 pounds

Players cannot exceed the maximum weight above at "Official Weigh-In" prior to the second exhibition game of the season, and can gain one (1) pound per game for a maximum weight gain during the season on 10 pounds.  Players over the maximum weight are moved up to the next highest weight division.

WCYFC leagues are divided into two divisions:  the "American Division" and the "National Division", each consisting of four teams, and play two (2) preseason exhibition games and ten (10) regular season games.  Two playoff games follow, culminating with the Conference Super Bowl game.  The final game of the year is the "All Star Game" in which National Division All Stars compete against the American Division All Stars for bragging rights.

The American Division is comprised of the following leagues:  Brandon Bears, Brandon Steelers, East Bay Buccaneers, and Temple Terrace Wildcats.  The National Division is comprised of the following leagues:  Brandon Broncos Lakeland Eagles, .Plant City Dolphins, and Wesley Chapel Cowboys.

Practice begins in July 7 and the season ends in December 6 with the All Star Game.  View Schedule.
