Al NassrFC of Saudi Arabia have shown an interest in signing Pierre-EmerickAubameyang from Arsenal. Sky Sports revealed that the Saudi Arabian club have made an offer for the Gabonese international.
Al Nassr were said to have made an offer to take Pierre-EmerickAubameyang on loan from the Gunners until the end of this season with an obligation to sign him. It had earlier been disclosed that Arsenal will consider offers for Aubameyang who has 18 months left on his Arsenal contract. The former A.C. Milan and Borussia Dortmund attacking talent put pen to paper on a new three-year deal at Arsenal at the start of last season, but he has not been able to show the form that made him one of the most feared strikers in the Premier League before he signed the new Arsenal contract in the summer of 2020.
Pierre-EmerickAubameyang signed the new Arsenal contract a few weeks after he scored a brace each in the semi-final and the final of the FA Cup during the 2019/20 season. His goals gave Arsenal a 2-0 win over Manchester City in the semi-final before they came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1 in the final thanks to the two goals from the former Arsenal captain. Aubameyang scored four goals in those two FA Cup games against City and Chelsea on the way to Arsenal setting a record for the most FA Cup wins.
The future of Aubameyang at Arsenal is uncertain at the moment after he was stripped of the captain's armband over a disciplinary breach last month. Arsenal can save around £25m in wages for the rest of his contract (18 months) if he moves to Al Nassr.
Aubameyang is currently in London after he returned earlier than expected from the ongoing African tournament being played in five cities in Cameroon. He was diagnosed with heart lesions while in Cameroon having missed the first two group games for Gabon due to a positive test for Covid-19.
