ARSENAL RE-IGNITED

Thierry Henry was part of the last Arsenal team that managed to win the league title. Now, the Frenchman is coming to the end of his career and it has been so long a wait for Arsenal fans to see the club lift of the league title again.

The club has been failing to compete with the top teams due to the inability to spend money, but this season has sparked a remarkable change from Arsene Wenger's men. After managing to pip most of the Premier league giants for the transfer of Mesut Ozil, the club are currently top of the table with a one-point advantage.

Unlike in previous seasons, they have been able to maintain this position for most part of the season. They have not relinquished the lead that they took early on in the campaign. This has led to Henry believing that Wenger will finally bring an end to the trophy drought, which has plagued with the club since 2005. The last Arsenal team to win the FA Cup – their last major trophy – contained the likes of Henry and Patrick Vieira. Henry is currently playing for New York Red Bulls and there was even talk of him returning to the club for a third spell. He is the club's record goalscorer.

“They have had a great start to the season and I hope they can keep it up. I would be really happy if they won the title. He changed the philosophy of the club and won stuff as soon as he arrived," said Henry. Arsenal have been linked with a January move for Schalke winger Julian Draxler. Former Premier league star Didi Hamann says that the club should focus on signing a striker rather than the winger, who is rated at more than £ 40 million.
