Henry on Xhaka

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has stated that he cannot understand why Granit Xhaka is not starting more games.

He said that the player was brought in to strengthen the team and so far he has stayed on the bench.

Henry believes that Xhaka should make the most of Cazorla absence and establish himself as an important member of the team. The former French international said that Xhaka has enough skills and qualities to play in the Arsenal team and that he cannot understand why Arsene Wenger is not giving him his chance.

He said that Granit Xhaka should have seized the opportunity to get more playing time in an Arsenal team that has been struggling in recent weeks. He believes that the player has had enough time to adapt to the demand of the Premier League and that he should be ready by now to play in the first team.

However, Arsene Wenger does not seem to agree with Thierry Henry’s statement. He said that the French striker only started playing for the first time in November when he first joined the Gunners. The French manager believes that Granit Xhaka still needs time to adapt to the pace of the Premier League and also to the way Arsenal plays.

He said that Xhaka still to adapt to Arsenal tactics and need to find his best place on the field. He said that the player is making good progress in training and that he should get more playing time as the season goes on. He believes that Xhaka can play as a deep-lying playmaker and that he brings a physical aspect to Arsenal game.

Wenger believes that the season is long and that each player will have enough games in the team in order to express themselves.
