Arsenal legend-turned-pundit Thierry Henry believes Antonio Conte’s days at Chelsea are numbered irrespective of him guiding the club to the FA Cup title. The west London giants ended the season on a high note as they acquired their eight FA Cup crown but this has not ended the uncertainty over Conte’s position at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Henry suggested that the Blues are likely to opt for a change during the off-season with Conte not always being in the same understanding with the club’s hierarchy, he said: “It will be very difficult [for Conte to stay in charge]. It started when he finished last season. He was too loud for what people like at Chelsea.”
Conte started off questioning the club’s transfer policy during the early phase of the 2017/18 campaign and the trend pretty much followed through the season where he had publicly stated about the lack of game-changing options on the substitutes’ bench. As such, his relationship with the hierarchy has only soured over the course of the season and reports suggest that the Italian will be sacked with a compensation package before the end of the month.

Meanwhile, the Blues are yet to find a solid candidate to replace Conte next season but there are suggestions that Maurizio Sarri could succeed his compatriot following his exit with Napoli. The Italian is deemed to have already held talks over the Blues head coach role and the next couple of days could give a clear idea as to whether he would join the club.
Chelsea finished the previous league campaign in a disappointing fifth position and whoever replaces Conte is expected to be tasked with the job of getting the club back into title contention. The Blues have won the Premier League title in every other season since 2014 and they will be hoping for a similar repeat next term.
